The Electoral Commission of Ghana has began the compilation of New voter’s Register for the past three (3) days.

The exercise which is solely for Ghanaians has seen a lot of corporation from the public and their readiness to register their names in the voter’s Register.

Although the exercise sees improvement daily, the EC has been backlashed by the Opposition National Democratic Congress-NDC for not ensuring the safety protocols as the country battles with the COVID-19 Pandemic.

According to them, they have been vindicated since the EC has failed to honor it’s promise and has seen Ghana confirming more cases of COVID-19 , since the start of the registration.

That not withstanding, there has been allegations and counter blames from both the New Patriotic Party-NPP and that of the NDC, both party’s claim the other is aiding foreigners to register.

Some registrants have also detected some kind of errors on their new print out cards, with either their names misspelled or date of birth changed.

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has however, confirmed having detected the errors and corrected them.

In a statement dated today, July 2, 2020 and signed by the Acting Director for public Affairs Mrs. Sylvia Annoh, the incident occurred at Tamale and has been resolved.
