The Member of Parliament of the Okere constituency, cabinet minister and the minister for Local Government and Rural Development ; Hon Dan Kwaku Botwe has commended pioneers of the Presbyterian church of Ghana for the good training they are offering in support of national development.
Speaking at the Centenary Anniversary celebration of the Emmanuel Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana – Mabang, the minister disclosed that, he prides himself wherever he goes for the good upbringing and training obtained from the various Presbyterian Institutions. He therefore urged all to embrace and hold it in high esteem.
Hon Dan Kwaku Botwe who was born in Mabang though from the Eastern region, advised the Youth of today not to depend solely on education and their scramble for white color jobs, but can do other things like agriculture which can serve as another source of revenue for their up keep.
The minister commended the Brong Ahafo Presbytery for Instituting a fund to cater for the training and other needs of catechist’s whilst in service and retirement.
Speaking on the theme: ” celebrating 100 years of God’s faithfulness :impacts, challenges and prospects” the moderator of the Presbyterian church of Ghana the Rt. Rev Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante said it is time Christians prove to the world they are true followers of Christ by desisting from all forms of social vices, illegalities, bribery and corruption amongst others as well as other behaviors that speak ill of Christians.
Reacting to the recent #fixTheCountry campaign that went viral on social media, the Moderator said it is a good move, he therefore charged leadership of the country to give a listening ear to the call adding, for total National Development, it is needful for the individuals to also fix their hearts and attitude.
Established in 1920, the Emmanuel Congregation of the Presbyterian church of Ghana-Mabang; has achieved a lot from; Godly training through to education and their current membership stands at 1,526 with Rev. Ramseyer Kodom Kwafo as the District Head.
The durbar was graced by Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante – Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Dr. William Kwabena Ofosu Addo-Chairperson of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery, Mr. Stephen Attuah-Oppong – Presbytery LAY Rep to the General Assembly Council, Rev. Charles Kwesi Yeboah – Clerk of the BAP, other ministers of God of PCG, government officials, traditional leaders, amongst others.
