Audio: Green Ghana Day: Mad rush for seedlings in Bono region

Many institutions and individuals in the Bono Region have stormed the offices of the Forestry Commission to demand free tree seedlings to plant during the Green Ghana Day set up by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

The institutions demanding seedlings to plant include religious organizations, schools, district assemblies, private business organizations, government agencies and departments and individuals.

This was disclosed on Dinpa Anopa Bosuo show hosted by Nana Akosua Ansah by the regional Manager of Forest Service Division of the Forestry Commission, Mr. Noble Isaac Eshun.

According to Mr. Eshun, the region has targeted 250,000 trees to be planted on Friday, adding that they expect about 300,000 more trees to be planted due to the mad rush.

He urged all citizens in the Region to participate fully in the laudable project to make it a success, saying trees have so many economic benefits for man especially in this era of global warming and climate change.
