ELEVATION OF MABANG DISTRICT
Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Brong Ahafo Presbytery until recently had 26 Districts under the Chairmanship of Rev. Dr William Kwabena Ofosu-Addo. To split the Presbytery further to ensure efficient administration and management, 5 new Districts have been created bringing the total number of districts to Thirty-one (31).
These newly created districts include: Nsawkaw, Nkoranza North, Techiman South, Sunyani Estates and Mabang which is the latest to be elevated on 21st February, 2021.
In a sermon prior to the elevation of Mabang District, Rev. Atta Dwomoh Appiah, the Sunyani East District Minister and Ministers Representative on Presbytery Standing Committee, spoke on the theme: “Christ Our Example.” He called on all Christians to endeavor to avail themselves for the task ahead and always see Christ as their mentor and follow in his steps.
Rev. Atta Dwomoh Appiah indicated that, we can experience open heavens and divine endorsement only when we emulate Christ example of humility in submitting to go through all laid down processes and procedures in getting baptized.
He ended by calling on all Christians not to rush but to follow laid down procedures of the Church and wait for God to outdoor them at the right time.
Assisted by Rev. Charles Kwesi Yeboah, Clerk of the Presbytery and Mr. Stephen Attuah-Oppong, the Presbytery LAY Rep. to GAC, Rev. Dr. Kwabena Ofosu-Addo, the Chairperson of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery performance the elevation ceremony to formerly elevate the Mabang District which has been carved out of the Tepa District. By this elevation Mabang district has become the 31st District of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
Rev. Ramseyer Kwafo Kodom is the first District Minister of the newly created Mabang District.
The District has 18 congregations and preaching points with Thousand Three Hundred and eighty (1,380) membership.
The first District Minister and his twenty-six (26) Team of Agents and Presbyters have Pledged to build a pavilion and buy one motor bike to facilitate the work of God in the District.
